About the Role

As the Sales Manager, reporting into and working closely with the Director of Sales, you will support the delivery of the hotel’s sales strategy by proactively driving new business and contributing to the success of the proactive Sales team.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to support and contribute to the proactive sales strategy, actively participating in sales activity and sharing best practice with the wider team.
  • Support sales coaching and conversion activity for the proactive and wider commercial team, confidently contributing to training sessions and stakeholder presentations where required.
  • Proactively deliver new direct business and develop a strong sales pipeline aligned with business needs, while managing assigned segments and contributing to budgeted sales targets.
  • Generate new business leads through a variety of channels, including social media, networking, and market research, as well as support the renegotiation of existing annual agreements in line with the hotel’s KPIs.
  • Accurately track and report sales activity and performance against targets, KPIs, and sales objectives, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Director of Sales.
  • Work collaboratively within the Sales team and across the wider Hotel to support board sales packs, monthly commercial reviews, and other reporting requirements.
  • Use best practice to continuously improve sales processes, identifying opportunities to streamline efficiency and maintaining regular communication with above-property sales teams to ensure alignment with IHG’s overall strategy.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Senior Sales Executive, with experience supervising, coaching or mentoring team members within a busy sales team (ideally in a branded hotel or hospitality environment).
  • A strong track record of achieving sales targets, with experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and UK markets is essential, with Corporate and MICE experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute sales activity effectively, contributing to sales strategies while overseeing and supporting day‑day team performance.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise workloads and consistently maintain high standards and attention to detail for yourself and the team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with Opera/Cvent/Delphi knowledge being a bonus.
  • Availability to work primarily Monday to Friday; additional hours in the evenings and weekends may be required to meet business needs.
  • Some travel will be required to attend roadshows, corporate events, and client visits.
