Relief Security OfficersProviding security cover for multiple client retail sites.
Salary: £13.05-£14.10 depending on site.
Driving licence with own transport is required.
Job Overview- Protect customers’ property, people and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions.
- Deliver results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators and service level agreements, taking full responsibility and accountability.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.
- Be aware of and ensure compliance with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager, UK law and guidance bodies.
- Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the Assignment Instructions.
- Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarise yourself with changes and suggest amendments that improve service.
- Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation: obtain a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, wear it at all times, hold a CCTV PSS SIA licence and complete any additional required courses.
- Comply with all legal obligations and safety requirements.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
- Fully complete all required competency training.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
- Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Look out for and immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative, immediately involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident for the incident report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
- Previous security experience.
- SIA licence.
- SC clearance desirable.
