Security Supervisor - Manchester
Reporting to:
Manchester Site Security Manager
Position:
Permanent/Core
Rota Pattern: 6 on 3 off (3 days, 3 nights, 3 off)
Hours:
12 hours per shift
Pay: £15 an hour
Day shift timings: 07:00 to 19:00
Night shift timings: 19:00 to 07:00
Qualifications- Skills for Security trained & certificated
- SIA licensed
- First Aid trained & certificated
- ACT Awareness certified (desirable)
- IT literate
- Corporate Customer Services background (desirable)
- Ability to use MS Windows and MS Office applications
- A sound understanding of electronic security Access Control & CCTV systems (desirable)
- Physically fit to fulfil active job role requirements
- Leadership, supervision and management skills: ability to direct teams, make decisions under pressure and maintain discipline
- Communication skills: clear verbal and written communication for reporting incidents and coordinating with management, staff and authorities
- Technical proficiency: familiarity with security systems, fire panel management, surveillance technology and emergency response tools
- Analytical skills: capability to assess risks, identify threats and implement preventative measures
- Ability to work proactively/independently, part as a team, pay attention to detail and use intuition
- Customer Facing/front of house skills
- A high standard of bearing and turnout
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high-quality service
- Ability to liaise with others at all levels including senior management and customers clients

- Protection of Life, Protection of Property, Prevention of Crime, Prevention of Loss and Waste
- Responsible for leading and coordinating the site security team while maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Supervision of security staff to include assigning daily duties, scheduling shifts, and monitoring of service delivery and performance to ensure essential coverage and adherence to security protocols
- Monitoring serviceability of security systems by conducting inspections of surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems and all security equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Incident management: investigating, documenting and reporting security incidents, accidents or security breaches to management
- Training and development: educating security staff on policies, procedures, emergency response and correct use of security technology and equipment
- Access Control: overseeing verification of credentials for employees, visitors and contractors in order to maintain a secure premises
- Risk Assessment: performing security audits and identifying vulnerabilities, while recommending improvements to enhance safety and security standards
- Administrative duties: maintaining detailed and accurate records, preparing reports and attending management meetings to discuss security matters.
- Coordination with authorities: acting as a liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Develop and maintain first class customer service relations with client staff, all visitors, business partners, key stakeholders, including site security team
- Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control when required and other protective systems, and act as a first line response to activations, faults & incidents
- To attain and maintain a high level of knowledge of the Site Assignment Instructions and Emergency Procedures and their local implementation, including - building lock downs, shelter in place, emergency evacuation and first aid response in line with training level capacity
- Document everything: produce timely reports of incidents and alarm activations, check & log reports submitted by the security team whilst taking appropriate action, including administration of all site-based and client documentation
- To log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff
