Night Support Worker

Morning Star hostel provides a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs in Hulme. The role requires a Night Support Worker to work overnight and ensure a smooth-running service for our hostel.

• Provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents coming in and out of the building, and spend time with residents when they are in communal areas.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort in the building to create a welcoming atmosphere, and take pride in the appearance of the building and facilities.
• Assist in the smooth running of the accommodation/hostel by maintaining a safe environment, monitoring CCTV, answering telephone calls and undertaking health and safety checks.
• Log information for the day staff and provide a detailed handover; maintain the security of the building and report any incidents or accidents to on‑call staff or emergency services.
• Support residents by signposting them to support services, responding to any need for first aid, and abiding by service procedures and guidance.

• Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.

• 42 hours per week (2‑week working pattern with every other weekend off).
• Week 1: 4 × 12‑hour shifts – 20:45 to 09:15.
• Week 2: 3 × 12‑hour shifts – 20:45 to 09:15.
