Eastern Mechanical Contractors is seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is essential in ensuring comfort, efficiency, and reliability for our commercial clients, while upholding the company’s reputation for quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and air handlers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance services, ensuring systems operate efficiently and comply with manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues using appropriate tools and instruments.
  • Install, replace, and commission commercial HVAC components and systems as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining issues, repairs, and preventive measures.
  • Maintain detailed service reports and documentation for each job performed.
  • Adhere to company safety standards and comply with all applicable building and HVAC codes.
  • Participate in rotating on‑call schedule for emergency service requests.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial HVAC service or installation.
  • Strong understanding of commercial systems, controls, and refrigerants.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple service calls, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight spaces and elevated areas.
Preferred Skills
  • NATE certification or equivalent industry credentials.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and digital tools for troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
