Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

This role is based in Manchester.

You’ll be performing electrical maintenance on plant equipment, including motors, drives and control panels.

We’ll rely on your electrical and instrumentation expertise for fault finding and rectification on our Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

You will plan, schedule, and perform predictive preventive maintenance (PPMs) to minimise downtime, and assist with basic mechanical tasks such as replacing belts, bearings and seals.

The onsite mechanical team handles major mechanical elements like MIG/TIG welding.

• Electrical qualification (HNC/NVQ Level 3+ or equivalent) with strong instrumentation knowledge (preferably apprenticeship experience).
• Experience interrogating PLCs for fault finding and basic condition monitoring.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with AC & DC variable speed drives.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and instrumentation diagrams.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with mechanical repairs occasionally.
• Problem‑solving skills; ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety standards and safe working practices.
