Volunteering with Eclypse Young Persons Service within Change Grow Live is a great way to make a real difference in people’s lives whilst gaining valuable experience. Whether you want to give back to your community, develop new skills, or meet like-minded people, there are plenty of reasons to get involved.

Location

Manchester city centre, at the office and operational sites in the local community.

Working hours

We will work with you to be as flexible as possible, whether you can donate one day a week of your time or more. The core activity of this role occurs during the day (9:00 am – 5:00 pm), but may involve some evenings or weekends by prior arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engaging young people who have drug and alcohol issues and provide them with advice, support and structured interventions to support their health and wellbeing needs.
  • Assist Resilience Workers to carry out comprehensive assessments, risk assessments & plans and contribute to the development of recovery planning.
  • Support in the preparation and groupwork sessions in local schools, colleges and youth clubs to young people.
  • Document all Service User contact on case management systems in a timely manner.
  • Provide one‑to‑one key work sessions; increasing drug and alcohol awareness and delivering harm‑reduction advice.
  • Work towards holding a small caseload of low‑risk service users, coordinating their treatment options, and empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Raise concerns about safeguarding with staff as required.
What we expect

We also expect an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well‑being of all children, young people and adults, and applicants must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice. We are actively recruiting people who can offer us 1–3 days per week to work within our drug & alcohol service; we are specifically looking for people who are keen and enthusiastic and would be able to commit to staying as a volunteer with us for up to one year.

All candidates must be available for training which will commence from 20 04 26 and will involve one day per week over seven weeks as follows:

  • Mondays at Bradnor Point, Wythenshawe, M22 4TF
  • Wednesdays at The Old School House, Clayton, M11 4HA
