Day Centre Worker - Whitechapel (Dellow Centre) Whitechapel, London £15.50 per hour  Holiday Pay Temporary Ongoing Contract Shift 8.30 AM - 2.30 PM About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Day Centre Worker to join a busy and supportive service based at the Dellow Centre in Whitechapel. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable adults, homelessness services, or community-based support settings.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for service users, helping them access essential services and work towards positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults accessing the day centre. Welcome and engage with service users in a professional and non-judgemental manner. Carry out assessments, support planning, and regular reviews where required. Signpost clients to housing, healthcare, welfare benefits, substance misuse, and other specialist services. Support service users with appointments, advocacy, and accessing community resources. Maintain accurate case notes, records, and service documentation.

Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity at all times. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for clients. Assist with day-to-day centre operations and ensure the environment remains safe and welcoming. Essential Requirements Previous experience working within homelessness, supported housing, day centres, hostels, outreach, or related support services. Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging situations professionally and maintain appropriate boundaries. Good IT and administrative skills, including case recording and report writing. Understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and person-centred support. Desirable Knowledge of homelessness legislation and support pathways. Experience working with individuals affected by mental health issues, substance misuse, offending behaviour, or multiple disadvantage. Interested?
