Job Overview
This role is a Social Worker positioned within Manchester City Council, providing essential support to vulnerable residents and managing safeguarding risks within a multi‑agency environment.

- 2 references (preferably covering 3 years)
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Medical clearance via a pre‑placement health assessment (PPHA)
- Full valid driving licence and personal car (Essential Car User)
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Adhere to truthful application standards and avoid plagiarism
- Provide peer support during duty shifts and assist the team as required.
- Attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and undertake safeguarding duties, including care coordination.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to ensure safeguarding procedures are in place.
- Identify, challenge, and develop solutions to safeguarding risks for vulnerable residents.
- Work with partner agencies to deliver effective planning for vulnerable residents of Manchester, representing the City Council at meetings, proceedings, and reviews.
- Actively engage in team and service development, promoting innovative ideas and techniques to improve service performance and outcomes.
- Support colleagues in providing a consistent, high‑quality social care service in complex individual and family situations.
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Two professional references.
- Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Right to work in the UK (no Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route).
