About this job

The Saint Mary's Centre is recruiting an experienced and/or qualified ISVA to provide trauma‑informed advocacy support to adult clients with diverse needs within an independent and non‑judgmental service.

Responsibilities
  • Assess risk and support needs of adult ISVA clients through comprehensive assessments.
  • Provide trauma‑informed advocacy support and facilitate access to justice for adults who are or may be engaging with the criminal justice system.
  • Advise clients of options, signpost and support liaison with appropriate agencies and services.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to secure the best outcomes.
  • Create, implement, coordinate and review client support plans.
  • Provide information, advice, guidance and make external referrals as appropriate.
  • Offer impartial advice and support to clients considering reporting their experience to criminal justice agencies and advocate for their chosen decisions.
  • Support clients who have reported their experience and are engaged with the criminal justice system, advising them on procedures, processes and their rights in adherence to the Victims Code.
  • Keep accurate, timely and appropriate records, including activity data collection.
