We are recruiting 3-4 experienced Children's Social Workers to join a newly established Family Help Transition Team
, supporting children and young people predominantly subject to Child Protection Plans
.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a focused team created to ensure children and families receive consistent, high-quality social work support while awaiting transfer to our Safeguarding Service and as this council transitions to the new Families First for Children model.

About the Role

As part of this dedicated team, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people, primarily subject to Child Protection Plans.
  • Deliver high-quality statutory social work interventions.
  • Complete statutory visits, assessments, Child Protection reviews and care planning.
  • Build positive, purposeful relationships with children, young people and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
  • Prepare families and casework for a smooth transition into the new Family Help Teams.
  • Ensure case recording is timely, accurate and outcome-focused.
About You

You will be:

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in Children's Safeguarding and Child Protection.
  • Confident managing statutory Child Protection caseloads.
  • Passionate about relationship-based practice and improving outcomes for children.
  • A proactive team player with excellent assessment and communication skills.
