Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're looking for a passionate and experienced education professional to become the education voice within our new Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at the heart of child protection decision-making, ensuring that children and young people's educational experiences, outcomes and vulnerabilities are fully considered alongside safeguarding concerns.

Working across education, social care, police, health and partner agencies, you'll gather and analyse educational intelligence, identify emerging risks such as poor attendance, exclusion and disengagement, and provide professional advice and challenge to support informed, child-centred decision-making.

What you'll do:
  • Represent education within multi-agency child protection activity.
  • Ensure educational needs and outcomes are central to safeguarding discussions.
  • Analyse information relating to attendance, exclusions and school engagement to identify safeguarding risks.
  • Work closely with schools, social care, police and health partners to strengthen information sharing.
  • Provide professional advice, challenge and support to improve safeguarding practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Families First Partnership reforms and strengthen the role of education within child protection arrangements.
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has substantial experience working with vulnerable children and families within education or safeguarding services.
  • Understands child protection processes and multi-agency working.
  • Can build strong relationships and influence professionals across agencies.
  • Has excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children with a social worker.
