  • Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, healthcare providers, families, carers and community organisations.
  • Apply relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983 and Human Rights Act 1998.
  • Promote positive risk-taking and risk enablement while ensuring appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
  • Support preventative interventions aimed at reducing, delaying or preventing the escalation of care and support needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records, assessments and reports in accordance with professional and statutory standards.
  • Advocate for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, promoting their rights, choices and social inclusion.
  • Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice and continuing professional development.
Essential Requirements
  • Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, Diploma or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience working within Adults Mental Health Social Work services.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant mental health legislation.
  • Experience completing statutory assessments, safeguarding enquiries, risk assessments and support plans.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads involving adults with significant mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication, assessment and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred and recovery-focused practice.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to drive as part of the role is essential.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide three years of employment references, explanations for any gaps in employment and evidence of relevant qualifications.

What Can You Expect?
