Software Engineer in Test

Salary: up to £70,000 + 10% bonus

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test
, you’ll operate as a true engineer within a product-aligned squad. You’ll own automation-first testing across cloud-native, API-driven systems and play a key role in shaping how quality is embedded across the wider platform.

This is a hands-on role with real influence — not a test-lead-by-proxy position.

• Designing and delivering robust test strategies aligned to product and platform goals
• Building and evolving automated test frameworks across UI, API, integration, and performance
• Driving a culture of automation-by-default and continuous improvement
• Testing complex, distributed systems and high-volume integrations
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and release confidence
• Partnering closely with Software Engineers and Product teams
• Mentoring junior engineers and raising quality standards across squads

• Automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar
• Solid API testing experience (REST, Postman, SoapUI)
• Experience working in Agile, product-led teams
• Cloud exposure (Azure or AWS)

• Docker / containerised test environments
• Performance testing (k6 or similar)
• Experience testing complex integrations and platform systems

• Up to £70k base + 10% bonus

  Manchester, 2 days onsite
