About

The Role

As an Engineering Lead, you’ll lead a stream‑aligned product team responsible for delivering a core part of Vypr’s platform. You’ll combine technical leadership, people management, and hands‑on engineering to ensure your team delivers secure, scalable, and high‑quality solutions that directly support Vypr’s business goals. You’ll own the technical delivery and operational excellence of your stream, ensuring your team delivers measurable value to customers.

You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering leads to guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and create an environment where your team can perform at their best.

Things that you will do
  • Lead a cross‑functional team, owning delivery of end‑to‑end product features and platform improvements.
  • Line‑manage a small group of engineers supporting their growth, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Write, review, and maintain high‑quality code across the full stack (Type Script, Node.js, Next.js, AWS), ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Guide architectural and design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and QA to plan, scope, break down, and deliver impactful work that balances quality and speed.
  • Identify and manage technical debt within your stream, ensuring sustainable delivery.
  • Support our recruitment activity, getting involved in interviews, assessments, onboarding, etc.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, autonomy, and accountability within your team.
What you will be responsible for
  • Delivering high‑quality, reliable, and scalable software that powers Vypr’s product intelligence platform.
  • Building and sustaining a high‑performing, motivated engineering team.
  • Aligning your team’s technical and delivery priorities with product and business goals.
  • Supporting engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
  • Advocating for best practices in coding standards, testing, and delivery processes.
What You Are Good At
  • You have deep experience across the full stack, ideally with Type Script, Node.js, Next.js, and AWS.
  • You are good at balancing hands‑on technical work with effective team leadership.
  • You mentor engineers, drive best practices, and make informed architectural decisions that improve system stability and developer efficiency.
  • You proactively identify technical challenges, optimise performance, and balance trade‑offs between innovation and maintainability.
  • You work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver high‑quality solutions.
  • You advocate for CI/CD, automated testing, and security best practices to improve deployment speed and system reliability.
