Senior Software Developer - Life & Pensions
Are you passionate about programming and problem-solving and do you have experience with implementing solutions for finance, preferably the UK pension industry?
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our international teams and help shape the future of pension solutions in the UK market.
Join us to build Festina Life, a modern life & pension platform. You'll start by contributing to international projects (Denmark and the Netherlands) to gain hands‑on product experience and then help drive new implementations in the UK. You'll work closely with our Denmark-based teams while our Manchester office is being established. We offer flexibility, with the option to begin from home and transition to a hybrid/office setup.
Whatyou’ll work on
- Implementing pension‑specific business logic
- Designing and building REST APIs and integrating components into large system landscapes
- Work closely with pension specialists in the UK and other countries
- Actively contributing to the creation and development of the UK layer
- Working with automated testing and performance optimisation
- Agile delivery in smaller, empowered teams
- PI planning against a clear roadmap
- Teams own their sprint planning and collaborate closely across borders
- We operate as a flat organisation, fostering openness, accountability, and fast decision‑making
- Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of domain experience in the UK pensions industry / financial sector
- Strong coding background in Java, C# or similar; experience with cloud technologies is a plus
- A structured, self‑driven team player who enjoys collaboration as well as deep, focused work
- Experience integrating with enterprise ecosystems in pensions/insurance
- A meaningful role shaping a next‑generation pension platform
- Close collaboration with experienced colleagues in Denmark and across Europe
