Job Description

Raytheon UK is looking for a full‑time, permanent Senior Data Engineer to join specialist teams in Manchester, Glasgow or London working fully onsite.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of our experienced software development function within a cross‑functional Agile team.

Responsibilities
  • Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineers.
  • Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with the project.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with peers on technical direction within the team.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python (PySpark, Pandas, PyArrow).
  • Experience with distributed data processing (Apache Spark).
  • Experience with Data ETL (Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Apache NiFi).
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Experience with messaging/streaming (Kafka, AWS SQS, other cloud queuing native services).
  • Experience with SQL and No

    SQL storage (HDFS, Iceberg, Elastic, S3, Data Lake).
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift).
  • Experience with testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with code repositories and familiarity with branching strategies, pull requests, and merge processes.
