Job Description
Raytheon UK is looking for a full‑time, permanent Senior Data Engineer to join specialist teams in Manchester, Glasgow or London working fully onsite.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of our experienced software development function within a cross‑functional Agile team.
Responsibilities- Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineers.
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with the project.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with peers on technical direction within the team.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- Proficiency in Python (PySpark, Pandas, PyArrow).
- Experience with distributed data processing (Apache Spark).
- Experience with Data ETL (Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Apache NiFi).
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Experience with messaging/streaming (Kafka, AWS SQS, other cloud queuing native services).
- Experience with SQL and No
SQL storage (HDFS, Iceberg, Elastic, S3, Data Lake). - Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift).
- Experience with testing frameworks and best practices.
- Experience with code repositories and familiarity with branching strategies, pull requests, and merge processes.
