Principal Software Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

• Full-stack experience across a selection of JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS)
• Proficiency in Type Script, Python, and Java REST API development & OpenAPI / Swagger
• Experience with cloud services (AWS or Azure)
• Knowledge of containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Proficient in using relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
• Understanding of Elasticsearch / Open search
• Experience with unit testing / automation and use of testing frameworks (e.g. Mocha, Jest, Cypress)

• Design and build software using industry best practices

We are Raytheon UK and we offer a full‑time, permanent opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer to join our experienced team at our Manchester or Gloucester sites, utilizing a hybrid working pattern. This role provides the opportunity to focus on technical work while also guiding and developing junior team members. As part of a cross‑functional team, you’ll be involved in delivering and deploying critical software across various business areas.
