Full-Stack Engineer (Vice President)
Location:
Manchester, UK. This role is part of the EMEA Transfer Agency Engineering team and focuses on building scalable applications that align with BNY’s strategic pillars of innovation and operational excellence.
- Lead the design and development of technology services using industry best practices and cutting‑edge technologies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and implement new features that enhance user experience and system performance.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure high quality and performant code through comprehensive automated testing and debugging processes.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the strategic direction of BNY's technology solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and integrate new technologies to advance the department's engineering capabilities and speed to market.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency and exposure to multiple programming languages and frameworks with expertise in both front‑end and back‑end development, test coverage and automation tools, pipeline deployment, and a focus on creating resilient code suitable for an enterprise production environment.
- Experience with Java‑based microservices integrating with SQL databases, Snowflake, MQ, and Kafka messaging; familiarity with legacy .NET applications.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Experience working within PODs in an agile paradigm; SAFe experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with diverse teams across BNY’s global sites.
