Position: Mentorship for Disabled Intersectional Artists in Music

Good Energy PR , a Global Majority/LGBT+ run UK plugging company, has launched a new mentorship programme for independent intersectional artists and musicians.

The yearly initiative is designed specifically for artists and musicians that identify as intersectional, and will focus on supporting a different marginalised group of people each year. The first year of the programme will prioritise disabled intersectional artists.

Selected participants will receive one-to-one coaching, group mentorship sessions, talks delivered by music industry guest speakers, a track serviced to radio and more.

Amplifying underrepresented voices

Good Energy PR Founder Jess Kangalee shares: “My hopes for this programme are to continue to amplify underrepresented voices and contribute to a more equitable music ecosystem by providing knowledge, access and community. I want to inspire confidence not only in the programme participants, but for every person that doesn’t fit into a box and can experience struggles with identity, their place in the world and in the creative industries.

“Your unique point of view as an Intersectional person gives you so much – whether that be culture, experiences, practices or creativity – and this is something that should be nurtured and celebrated.”

The programme encourages applications from artists creating music in all genres.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be over the age of 18
  • Identify as Disabled and Intersectional
  • Be unsigned and unmanaged

Note:Bands and ensembles are welcome to apply if all members are over the age of 18 and the majority of members identify as disabled and intersectional.

Applications are open online and are accepted via written, audio or video format. by Monday 31 August 2026.

If you have any questions about the programme or application process, please  .
