Position: Full-stack Developer (Senior)

As a Senior Full-stack Developer at Cantarus, you'll play a leading role in designing and delivering complex digital solutions for some of the UK's leading membership organisations, charities, professional bodies and commercial brands.

Working across modern Microsoft technologies, you'll combine hands‑on software engineering with technical leadership, helping shape solution architecture, mentoring colleagues and ensuring the highest standards of quality across every project.

You'll work closely with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, UX designers and consultants throughout the full software development lifecycle, providing technical guidance to both colleagues and clients while remaining actively involved in delivery.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, continually improving engineering practices, and helping those around them become better developers.

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, secure and maintainable full‑stack solutions using modern Microsoft technologies.
  • Take ownership of complex technical implementations from architecture through to deployment.
  • Deliver solutions using leading CMS and Digital Experience Platforms including Umbraco and Xperience by Kentico.
  • Provide technical leadership within agile delivery teams, helping guide implementation decisions and ensuring best practice is followed.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level developers through code reviews, pair programming and technical guidance.
  • Maintain high engineering standards through clean code, automated testing, CI/CD and Dev Ops best practice.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Contribute towards internal engineering standards, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks and AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
  • Act as a trusted technical adviser for both colleagues and clients.
Preferred Experience

We're looking for developers with a strong engineering background and a passion for continually improving both themselves and those around them.

  • 5+ years' commercial experience delivering full‑stack Microsoft solutions.
  • Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET Core and Web APIs.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL Server and relational database design.
  • Strong experience with React, Type Script, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience building enterprise‑scale web applications.
  • Experience working with Git and modern source control workflows.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, security and performance optimisation.
  • Experience mentoring other developers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Umbraco and/or Xperience by Kentico experience.
  • Docker and containerisation.
  • Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Actions.
  • Experience integrating third‑party APIs and cloud services.
  • Experience contributing to technical strategy or architectural decision making.
  • Microsoft certifications or community contributions (MVP, speaking, open source etc.)

37.5 hours

Monday - Friday (Core hours 10:00am - 4:00pm)

Holiday: 25 days per annum, plus public holidays, and your birthday (or closest working day) off. We also offer the opportunity to purchase up to 5 additional holidays per year Reporting in to:
