Full-Stack Software Engineer; mid-level

About us: Medical knowledge doubles every 73 days, and two in three US physicians already use AI in daily practice - yet the way new therapies reach clinicians remains slow and hard to scale. Recourse AI uses conversational AI to help clinicians stay current, and allows life sciences teams to safely and rapidly educate physicians and field teams on cutting-edge therapies - so new treatments reach patients faster.

Recourse AI is a rapidly growing venture-backed AI Health Tech startup with teams in the US and Manchester. Our Manchester HQ - a spacious, full-floor office in the city centre - is home to a team of around 30. Our engineers work across a React/Type Script frontend, Python backends (FastAPI/Django), realtime voice AI, and digital human avatars.

The role: We are hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer (mid-level) to build and ship user-facing features across our React frontend and Python backend. Working with product managers and designers, you will refine requirements and own features from technical design through release, including API design, implementation, testing, and monitoring. You will also contribute to platform infrastructure and realtime voice AI systems. Your work will directly shape the tools clinicians and field teams use every day.

What you will work on:

• Work on core systems to ship platform-wide features that drive product value
• Use product discovery insights and customer feedback to shape platform features that solve real customer needs
• Build end-to-end solutions with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, Content, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions
• Contribute to the design and architecture of new services, features, and platform capabilities
• Triage, diagnose, and resolve technical issues and bugs across the platform, with a focus on identifying root causes and delivering timely fixes
• Ensure the platform remains robust, scalable, and efficient as we grow across enterprise customers

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production applications, preferably using React/Type Script and Django/Python
• Proven experience building end-to-end solutions with a strong focus on reliability and robustness
• Strong cross-functional communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, including Content, Sales, and Customer Success teams
• Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Good judgment and practical experience applying best practices when working with AI coding assistants

Bonus:

• 1+ year of hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP
