Right Now Group are recruiting for an Import Coordinator to join a well-established international freight forwarder based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Air or Ocean Imports who is looking to manage shipments end-to-end within a supportive and stable business. If you are confident in one mode of transport, full training can be provided on the other.
The Role - Import CoordinatorYou will be responsible for coordinating import shipments from start to finish, ensuring cargo is moved efficiently, compliantly, and in line with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities of an Import Coordinator- Managing Air Freight and/or Ocean Freight import shipments from initiation through to final delivery (training available on one mode if required)
- Preparing and processing import documentation, including:
- Bills of Lading
- Air Waybills
- Customs entries
- Liaising with shipping lines, airlines, overseas agents, hauliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely movement of freight
- Coordinating customs clearance processes accurately and efficiently
- Providing clear, proactive updates to customers and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ensuring all shipments comply with import regulations and customer requirements
- Using Cargo Wise to manage job files and shipment processing
- Supporting the wider operations team as required
- Previous experience in import freight operations (Air or Ocean)
- Confidence managing shipments end-to-end
- Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
- Experience using a freight forwarding system (
Cargo Wise highly desirable
) - A proactive individual looking to develop and progress within a stable forwarding business
- Salary: £32,000
- Hours: Monday to Friday, standard office hours
- Location: Manchester
