Transport Planner
Location: Stretford / Trafford Park
Salary: 29,000 - 34,000 per annum

Our client, an established logistics company based in Trafford Park, is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join its busy transport team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and solutions-focused professional with UK transport planning experience. You will coordinate export trailers and multi-drop collection and delivery operations, ensuring services run efficiently and customers receive their deliveries on time.
Working HoursYour standard working hours will be:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Holiday shift cover:
Early shift, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM - Holiday shift cover:
Late shift, 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM - Occasional Saturday mornings:
Paid as overtime in addition to salary
You will receive 30 days of annual leave, including bank holidays. This increases with length of service up to a maximum of 35 days.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Transport Planner, your duties will include:
- Planning and coordinating export trailers.
- Planning multi-drop collection and delivery vehicles to achieve on-time performance.
- Ensuring all customer collections are completed efficiently.
- Adjusting schedules in response to changing customer and network demands.
- Liaising with drivers and colleagues to maintain high daily operational standards.
- Monitoring driver performance and communicating delays effectively.
- Troubleshooting live transport issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing operational updates when required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous transport planning experience within a UK-based logistics company.
- The ability to organise, manage and utilise people and resources effectively.
- Good computer skills, with full training provided on in-house systems.
- A flexible approach to working hours and shift cover.
- The ability to remain calm and effective in a time-critical environment.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Salary of 29,000 - 34,000 per annum.
- 30 days' annual leave, including bank holidays.
- Annual leave increasing to 35 days with length of service.
