The Medical Motorcycle Courier will be responsible for collecting medical specimens from clinics and healthcare providers and transporting them safely to designated laboratory locations.
Because these deliveries support diagnostic services, the role requires a high level of reliability, professionalism, organisation and attention to safety.
You will work independently on scheduled routes while remaining part of a wider healthcare and courier team.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties may include:
- Collecting medical specimens from clinics and healthcare providers across Manchester.
- Transporting specimens safely and promptly to the appropriate laboratory.
- Following scheduled collection routes and delivery times.
- Using a company-provided motorcycle for courier duties.
- Handling sensitive medical specimens according to relevant procedures.
- Maintaining accurate collection and delivery records.
- Representing the organisation professionally when visiting healthcare facilities.
- Communicating effectively with clinics, laboratory staff and other couriers.
- Following health, safety and specimen-handling procedures.
- Reporting any issues or delays promptly.
This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week

Collection times may include:
- Daytime shifts
- Evening collections
- Rotational weekend work
A weekly rota is expected to be prepared in advance based on your availability, clinic requirements and operational needs.
Applicants should therefore be flexible because collection times may vary from week to week.
RequirementsApplicants should have:
- A full UK motorcycle licence.
- A clean driving record with no licence points.
- Confidence and competence when riding a motorcycle.
- Excellent punctuality and organisational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A professional appearance and attitude.
- The ability to work independently.
- The ability to follow scheduled routes and collection instructions.
- Willingness to complete any required health checks.
- The ability to complete the necessary security and background checks.

- DBS clearance.
