Position Summary

The Music or Recreation Integrative Therapist provides structured therapeutic interventions using music, recreation, and creative modalities to support patients’ behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social development. This role engages patients in goal‑directed activities that promote self‑expression, coping skills, social interaction, and overall well‑being. Therapists individualize care based on patient needs, diagnoses, developmental levels, and personal interests, collaborating with patients and multidisciplinary teams to set and track goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Integrative Therapies Assessments and document treatment plans and progress notes accurately.
  • Use music, recreation, and creative activities to support emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Individualize therapy based on patient needs, developmental level, and interests.
  • Collaborate with patients to set goals and track progress.
  • Maintain a schedule ensuring each patient is seen as required and provide coverage across units as needed.
  • Plan special events, maintain therapeutic materials, and ensure organized, safe treatment spaces.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership, co‑workers, and affiliates while maintaining therapeutic boundaries.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or Recreational Therapy.
  • MT-BC or CTRS certification required; state clinical licensure as applicable.
  • BLS and CPI certification (company-provided if needed).
  • Ability to communicate clearly, maintain professional boundaries, and work flexibly.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, DSM‑V terminology, and psychiatric/developmental diagnoses preferred.
Work Environment /

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily indoor work; may lift/carry up to 10‑15 lbs, travel between buildings, and adapt to variable temperature changes.
  • Must hear, speak, and visually inspect materials to perform essential duties.
