Job Duties SummaryServes as Lead staff for residential community home to which assigned. Responsible for ensuring the safety and well‑being of community home residents. Responsible for performing all essential functions of a CLS and/or CLS/CMAs when assigned to shifts in the community home. Responsible for ensuring financial accountability of client and petty cash funds, adherence to established budget, supervision of direct care staff (CLSs and CLS/CMAs), on‑site staff training, completion of all required paperwork, assurance of active treatment for residents, and maintenance of the assigned home.
Responsible for adherence to Policy and Procedures established by STARC and other regulatory agencies to ensure continued licensure of the home.
Reports to Residential Services Administrator.
Work ScheduleProgram operates 24 hours per day/365 days per year. CLS/CMA III work schedule is based on 260 workdays per year @ 8 hours per day. Work week consists of three shifts per week (total of 24 hours) in residential community homes and two eight‑hour days per week performing other required job duties in or out of the community homes.
Physical RequirementsDirect Care – Residential Community Homes. Heavy Work. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10 to 20 pounds, frequently lift, and/or move 25 to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 to 100+ pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and is frequently required to bend over, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee is required to transfer individuals with disabilities to/from bathtubs, vehicles, beds, chairs, etc. The employee is required to restrain adult individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities when their behavior is aggressive. Operation of a motor vehicle is also required in the performance of job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) or more years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or other disabilities in residential community home setting.
- CPR & First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- CMA Certification.
- Driver’s Certification.
- CPI training.
- Documentation of completion of supervisory/leadership training.
- Documentation of completion of Client & Residential Community Home Financial Procedures training.
- Ability to work well with people and exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
