Position

Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Mental Health Technician (MHT)
Status: Full Time, Hourly

Hours: 12-Hour Shifts either 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am

Shift: Day and Night Shifts Available

Schedule: Alternating weeks of three shifts and four shifts; some weekend days required


* Applicants must be at least 21 years old due to state patient care requirements.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician (MHT)/CNA to provide direct care and support to patients with psychiatric or developmental disorders. The MHT/CNA works as part of an interdisciplinary team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, assist with daily living activities, reinforce positive coping skills, and support treatment programs. CNAs provide additional nursing support under licensed staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities (hygiene, dressing, mobility, meals, and hydration).
  • Monitor patient behavior, document observations, and maintain safety.
  • Support participation in treatment groups, recreational activities, and structured routines.
  • Follow care plans, implement approved interventions, and assist with behavior management.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Maintain professionalism, respect, and adherence to facility policies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Current CNA certification in Louisiana.
  • BLS (AHA) and CPI certification required (company-provided if needed).
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Regardless of work schedule, must be available to complete a full week of orientation (Mon-Fri, 7:45am to 5:00pm).
