Housekeeper, Healthcare

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across clinical and non-clinical areas. This role includes cleaning patient rooms, common areas, offices, and equipment, following infection control and safety protocols, and responding promptly to urgent cleaning needs. Ability to communicate in English for safety purposes is required.

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, and public areas, including terminal cleaning after patient discharges.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, and equipment; report hazards or maintenance needs.
• Follow CDC, OSHA, and hospital infection control guidelines, including safe handling of biohazardous materials.
• Respond to urgent cleaning requests and assist other housekeeping staff as needed.
• Document cleaning activities and perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; reliable and punctual.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English to follow instructions, respond to emergency codes, and ensure safety.
• Knowledge of infection control practices; able to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
• Ability to lift up to 30–35 lbs occasionally; use proper body mechanics and safety precautions.
