Position Profile

Weaver seeks a State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join the Sales and Use (Indirect) Tax division of our SALT practice. The Sales and Use Tax Manager will work on multiple complex tax engagements and contribute to delivering innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for our diverse clients. Responsibilities
  • Apply in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries to provide consulting services to corporate clients in the SALT practice.
  • Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
  • Lead complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and the recovery of tax over payments (reverse audits).
  • Prepare complex tax research projects for clients by researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and implications.
  • Lead projects and a team of sales and use tax professionals.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • CPA, CMI or JD
    • 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm or similar industry
    • Experience with indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
    • Strong relationship management and practice development skills
    • Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients
Compensation and Benefits

At Weaver, our most valuable resource is our people. Compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas, based on experience, skills, certifications, and location. Weaver offers competitive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) and a 401(k) plan. We provide flexible scheduled time off (STO), a minimum of 56 hours of sick and safe leave, 11 holidays, and 2 recharge days.
