Special Education Teacher | Manhattan , California

Bring your expertise in special education to a supportive school setting near the beautiful Manhattan Beach area. This full-time contract position allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with moderate to severe needs. Youll have an opportunity to work with small, focused groups either grades TK-1 or 2-5 (each class serving 5-6 students) in a Special Day Class (SDC) environment.

With two openings available, youll join a passionate team dedicated to providing individualized education in a collaborative atmosphere.

• Active California Special Education credential with a Moderate/Severe authorization (required)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades TK-5) preferred
• Proven ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for diverse learners
• Strong behavior management and team collaboration skills
• Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and staff

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
• Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators to support student progress
• Maintain accurate records and update progress reports in compliance with state regulations
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom culture that nurtures growth and learning
