Financial Analyst - FP&A & Strategic Finance

Location: Manhattan Beach, CA (Hybrid - 3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote)

Compensation: $100,000-$150,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus

My client is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Financial Analyst to join a growing finance team in Manhattan Beach. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in financial modeling, FP&A, investment banking, or strategic finance who wants meaningful exposure to executive leadership and high-impact business decisions.

This position offers a unique blend of financial planning, operational analytics, strategic initiatives, and exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

The Financial Analyst will work closely with senior finance leadership, including the Director of Finance and CFO, to deliver actionable financial insights, improve reporting capabilities, and support the company's continued growth.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex data in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and recurring management reports to support business planning and strategic decisions.
• Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
• Prepare executive-level financial presentations, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Own recurring workforce, operational, and financial reporting processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long-term financial planning initiatives.

• Partner directly with finance leadership on strategic initiatives, business performance analysis, and special projects.
• Assist with financial modeling, due diligence, and analytical support related to potential acquisitions and M&A opportunities.
• Evaluate business opportunities, operational efficiencies, and financial performance drivers.
• Provide financial insights that support company growth, resource allocation, and profitability.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Data Engineering, Operations, and other departments to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies across financial and operational reporting systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting, streamline processes, and enhance financial visibility.
• Utilize Excel, business intelligence platforms, and large datasets to develop scalable reporting solutions.
• Help build and improve financial reporting infrastructure as the organization continues to expand.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, or a comparable structured analytical program;
  or
• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or a similar financial analyst role.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modeling and large dataset analysis.
• Strong PowerPoint capabilities with experience preparing presentations for senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence tools.
• SQL proficiency and experience working with large datasets.
