We are hiring a Software Engineer (T02) or a Principal Software Engineer (T03) to support our Ruby program on the Command‑and‑Control team. You will design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment, supporting the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for the Ground Segment.
- Document design decisions, code, and test procedures.
- Refactor existing code to improve quality and performance.
- Write and execute unit and integration tests.
- Debug and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Software Engineer (T02): 2 years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree;
Master’s degree counts as 0 years; up to 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Principal Software Engineer (T03): 5 years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD; up to 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance at application time and ability to pass a polygraph.
- Experience with C++ and Python.
- Experience with Red Hat Linux environments.
- Experience in software design lifecycle.
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) and Agile methodologies.
- Adjudicated FS or CI polygraph.
- STEM degree.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
- Experience with automated testing.
- Excellent technical writing and team‑building skills.
- Experience with Command‑and‑Control systems.
Primary level salary range: $89,400 – $134,200 per year. Secondary level salary range: $110,300 – $165,500 per year.
