Base pay range$16.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Job Summary:
An Entry-Level/Express Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance and light repairs on vehicles. This role is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the smooth operation of the service department. The technician will work under the supervision of more experienced technicians and will gradually be trained to take on more complex tasks. MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVING RECORD!!
Key Responsibilities:
Basic Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform oil changes and filter replacements.
- Check and replace vehicle fluids (coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, etc.).
- Rotate and balance tires.
- Perform battery checks and replacements.
- Conduct multipoint inspections to identify potential issues.
- Use diagnostic tools to read and clear error codes.
- Replace air filters, cabin filters, and other minor parts.
- Adjust and replace belts, hoses, and wiper blades.
- Perform minor brake repairs and adjustments.
- Accurately document services performed, and any additional services needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work spaces and tools.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations when disposing of fluids and parts.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques.
- Assist more experienced technicians and learn from their expertise.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Automotive training or certification from a technical school is a plus. - Experience:
Previous experience in an automotive service environment is preferred but not required. - Skills:
- Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and machinery.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
