Overview
Join Educate Kansas as a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. This full‑time district position offers a collaborative environment dedicated to student success.
LocationEisenhower and Anthony Middle Schools, Manhattan‑Ogden USD 383, Kansas.
Qualifications- Kansas teaching license.
- Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Background check required.
- Board‑approved alternatives to the above qualifications are acceptable.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources.
- Guide students in maintaining acceptable standards of classroom behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with student needs and district goals.
- Strive to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional objectives.
- Demonstrate instructional and interpersonal strategies responsive to cultural, ethnic, economic, and linguistic differences.
- Teach all students from a culturally inclusive perspective and establish expectations for classroom language and behaviors that value differences.
- Support students in discovering and sharing their own cultural identities and teach appropriate language for cross‑cultural questions.
- Evaluate student progress continually and report at designated times.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Make provisions for being available to students and parents for educationally related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning academic and behavioral progress.
- Cooperate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
