Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a combined medical and surgical unit, requiring a KS or compact RN license and BLS certification.

• Position is on a 28-bed general medical unit and a 22-bed surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Medical patient population includes cardiology, pulmonary, neurology, nephrology; surgical patients include general surgery, orthopedics, urology, and ENT
• Staffing ratio goal is 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift
• 24-hour hospitalist coverage is provided
• Night shift hours are 18:30–07:00 with every other weekend required
• 13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week
• Local candidates are eligible but may be offered a reduced rate based on facility radius rules
• Provide care for both medical and surgical patients with diverse diagnoses
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary hospital team with strong support from hospitalists
• Every other weekend shifts are required
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required
• Candidates may only be submitted to one position system-wide within the organization

• Active KS RN license or Compact Multistate RN license required
• At least 1 year of hospital RN experience
• Current AHA BLS certification is required
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Social Security Number and US address (not international) required for consideration
• Copy of driver’s license, skills checklist, and two professional references required
