As an Assistant Manager you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory control, cash control, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, schedule adherence, marketing, and profitability. In addition, you will:

• Operate all equipment
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler
• Prepare product
• Receive and process telephone orders
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily

• Give correct written instructions
• Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person

• Basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
• Make correct monetary change
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
• Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen

• Varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing other outside tasks
• In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas
• Sudden changes in temperature
• Fumes from food odors
• Exposure to cornmeal dust
• Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler
• Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts

• Standing: most tasks performed from a standing position
• Walking: short distances for short durations
• Lifting: bulk product deliveries up to 50 lb (with dimensions up to 3' × 1.5'); stack onto shelves up to 7 ft high
• Carrying: large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz) to storage, occasional 30 lb sauce, trays of dough (≈12 lb per tray)
• Pushing: moving trays on dollies (up to 30 lb, require up to 7.5 lb of force)
• Climbing: occasional navigation of stairs or ladder for maintenance
• Stooping / Bending: forward bending at pizza assembly, front counter, stocking ingredients, repeated 30–45 s at a time
• Squatting / Crouching: occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas
• Reaching: continuously; up, down, forward
• Hand tasks: eye‑hand coordination, use of hands continuous, shaping dough requires frequent forearm and wrist force

• Depth perception
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces
