ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Manager you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory control, cash control, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, schedule adherence, marketing, and profitability. In addition, you will:
- Operate all equipment
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler
- Prepare product
- Receive and process telephone orders
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily
- Give correct written instructions
- Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person
- Basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
- Make correct monetary change
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing other outside tasks
- In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas
- Sudden changes in temperature
- Fumes from food odors
- Exposure to cornmeal dust
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler
- Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts
- Standing: most tasks performed from a standing position
- Walking: short distances for short durations
- Lifting: bulk product deliveries up to 50 lb (with dimensions up to 3' × 1.5'); stack onto shelves up to 7 ft high
- Carrying: large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz) to storage, occasional 30 lb sauce, trays of dough (≈12 lb per tray)
- Pushing: moving trays on dollies (up to 30 lb, require up to 7.5 lb of force)
- Climbing: occasional navigation of stairs or ladder for maintenance
- Stooping / Bending: forward bending at pizza assembly, front counter, stocking ingredients, repeated 30–45 s at a time
- Squatting / Crouching: occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas
- Reaching: continuously; up, down, forward
- Hand tasks: eye‑hand coordination, use of hands continuous, shaping dough requires frequent forearm and wrist force
- Depth perception
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces
