Plumber/Pipefitter – Operations General Info

Pay: $35.16/hr. plus fringe benefit of $9.87/hr.

The Plumber/Pipefitter – Operations is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of piping systems, fixtures, and equipment supporting water, gas, steam, sewage, and compressed air systems throughout the facility or campus. This role supports daily operations by ensuring that mechanical piping systems function safely and efficiently, and complies with relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including potable water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and steam piping.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems for HVAC, compressed air, and other mechanical services.
- Inspect and test systems using pressure gauges, leak detectors, and other testing devices.
- Troubleshoot pipe system problems and recommend effective repair strategies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams.
- Coordinate with other trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical) for system tie‑ins or shared utilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance and operational checks on pumps, valves, backflow prev enters, traps, and related equipment.
- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Adhere to all local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Respond to emergency calls and participate in an on‑call rotation if required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Employees may be subject to immunization and testing requirements pursuant to client and current company requirements.
- Employees must meet the requirements of the federal credentialing process to access the facility, which includes obtaining facility access (PIV card, smart card, access card, badge) and meeting ongoing training and access requirements.
- Employees may be required to participate in the select agent program, which would include additional background investigations, training, and performing work in a bio‑containment facility, as well as meeting ongoing program requirements to maintain eligibility and compliance.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- No relocation assistance is available.
