Position Details
Full-time.
Schedule:
7.00 hours per day (7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), Monday–Friday, 190 days per year.
Minimum annual salary: $65,001, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $4,000 during this school year.
Purpose of PositionTeachers of exceptional students are responsible for planning and implementing an effective program of instruction based on students' Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Teachers report to their respective Program Supervisor.
Knowledge & Skill RequirementsBachelor's degree and an active PA certification in Special Education is required.
EssentialPhysical Requirements
Strong physical strength and the ability to lift and/or assist students ranging from pre‑school to twenty‑one years of age, including use of assistive appliances such as a wheelchair. Ability to physically restrain students in emotional distress using Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM), or Quality Behavior Supports (QBS) methods, as required, with training provided.
