Industrial Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for managing all personnel and activities within the Methods Engineering department, ensuring effective operations and alignment with organizational goals. This role leads the strategic deployment of the Schneider Performance System (SPS) and Lean Manufacturing methodologies to drive operational excellence, with a strong emphasis on labor efficiency and overall productivity.
The position oversees the development and optimization of processes, ensuring the achievement of SPS assessment targets. Industrial Manufacturing Engineering Manager plays a critical role in the creation and implementation of standardized practices and continuous improvement frameworks, fostering a culture of innovation and performance across the organization. This role ensures alignment with the Schneider Electric Trust Charter and supports the company’s strategic supply chain transformation initiatives.
Whatwill you do?
- Manage people and activities within the Industrial Manufacturing Engineering department, ensuring alignment with site objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of new processes to meet economic and technical demands. Apply expertise in SPS, process design, ergonomics, capacity planning, simulation tools, investment analysis, and cost performance.
- Drive technical training systems aimed at improving safety, quality, and efficiency across DVC operations.
- Ensure all process designs and improvements adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety through engineering controls and ergonomic solutions.
- Standardize work methods and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in production.
- Implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support quality assurance through process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Provide hierarchical leadership with full people management and budgetary accountability.
- Train and develop employees on new methods and procedures, offering guidance and support during process changes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to streamline operations.
- Analyze and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage maintenance budgets and allocate resources strategically to optimize operations.
- Maintain documentation and support audits related to process design and performance management.
- Ensure the maintainability of the production tool by implementing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) process and associated skills.
- Hands on experience of maintenance of compressors, power distribution system, DG sets etc.
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities and TPM practice.
- Lead and supervise a team of field service professionals, setting clear operational objectives and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Oversee plant/site security operations, including gate control, visitor management, surveillance systems, emergency response, and security audits.
- Manage relationships with third‑party service providers.
- Bring together cross‑functional teams to improve equipment reliability, availability, and performance.
- Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Digital, and OT/IT teams to translate maintenance and reliability challenges into scalable, operational solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/industrial engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of working experience in manufacturing management.
- 5+ years in leadership roles, managing engineering, methods, or manufacturing teams (people management experience required).
- Hands‑on experience with plant digitalization and implementation of manufacturing technologies and systems (ERP/SAP preferred).
- Strong expertise in manufacturing engineering, process design, capacity planning, and performance optimization and solid experience driving productivity, efficiency, and process standardization initiatives at plant level.
