The Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) is part of LEARN Behavioral, a collective of ABA providers dedicated to delivering collaborative care for children with autism and special needs. WEAP offers an entry‑level Behavioral Technician role that supports families and promotes professional growth.
Responsibilities- Implement play‑based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to help children 18 months‑6 years with autism build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills.
- Deliver individual and group ABA sessions in children’s homes or WEAP centers.
- Maintain accurate session documentation and progress reports in accordance with ABA standards.
- Assist in the development of behavior plans, goal setting, and skill acquisition strategies.
- Engage clients in activities that promote skill generalization, problem solving, and independence.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Daily reliable transportation.
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- Minimum age 18 on the first day of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and a valid background check clearance.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 35 pounds and perform typical client tasks (sit on floor, stoop, stand, walk, run).
- Strong desire to help children with autism and their families reach their goals.
- Compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Major, minor, or coursework in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, or related fields.
- Experience working with children (babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or other childcare roles).
- Training or skills supporting a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, counseling, mental health, or parenting.
- Commitment to creating lasting, positive change for children and families.
- Starting pay $16/hr, increasing based on ABA experience and training.
- Full‑time employees earn up to 15 days of paid time off after 90 days of employment.
- Part‑time employees are eligible for sick leave.
- Opportunity to be promoted in as little as three months with ongoing professional development.
- Work with children 18 months‑6 years with autism in homes or centers.
