Location – Manitowoc, WI.
The Role – Oversee, coordinate and schedule the activities of construction technicians using pneumatic missles to bore underground trenches/tunnels.
Responsibilities include:
- Read blueprints to determine construction requirements and plan procedures.
- Inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
- Locate, measure and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Assign work to crews based on material and worker requirements.
- Estimate material and worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Confer with managerial and technical personnel and other departments to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
- Order materials and supplies as directed.
- Analyze worker and production problems and recommend solutions.
- Train workers in construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
Qualifications –
- 5+ years underground telecommunications construction experience.
- Experience using a pneumatic missle for boring/trenching.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, OSHA and operating safety standards.
- Understanding of trenching, missiling, placement of duct, CIC, coax, fiber, pedestals & vaults.
- Safe operation of various types of utility vehicles and equipment.
- High energy, motivation, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task without interruption.
- Ability to work outside business hours when needed, including overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends, and all seasons.
- Ability to work with moderate to loud noise, in tight spaces, and on extended ladders or poles up to 28 ft high.
- Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, electricity or powerlines.
- Valid government‑issued photo ; driver’s license if driving required.
- Pass all pre‑employment requirements: MVR, background check, drug screening.
Compensation & Benefits – Full‑time, paid weekly, $25–$30 per hour (DOE). Full benefits package (Medical, Dental & Vision), paid time off, 401(k) with company match, 25k company‑paid life insurance, independent work & team collaboration, career development & advancement opportunities.
