The Role:

Medication Tech / Medication Aide

We're seeking a qualified, self-motivated certified medication aide to join our team. You will play a vital role in patient care, ensuring safe and accurate medication delivery, clear communication, and attentive monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver routine daily medications, both prescription and non-prescription, to patients precisely and safely as ordered by the physician and within the scope of your certification.

  • Coordinate effectively with different nurses (RNs and LPNs) to assist with overall patient care, medication administration schedules, and treatment plans.

  • Accurately record medication dosages and times of administration immediately in the resident's chart, noting any refusals or issues.

  • Observe patients closely for any signs of adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in their condition, and document these observations promptly, reporting them to the supervising nurse without delay.

  • Collect samples (e.g., urine, stool) for testing as instructed by the supervising nurse.

  • Respond promptly to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify and address patient needs in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the security and proper storage of medications, adhering to all facility and regulatory guidelines.

  • Assist with other patient care duties as directed by the supervising nurse.

Qualifications:
  • Required License/Certification:

    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate – Must be in good standing and active within the state of Wisconsin.

    • Accredited Medication Assistant Certificate – Must be in good standing and active within the state of Wisconsin.

  • High school diploma or relevant qualification is required.

  • Must be a certified medication aide.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and staff.

  • Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.

  • Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is highly desirable.
