Hours:
0.01. Shift: Tuesday 8pm to 6am and every 2nd weekend of the month. Applicants should reside within 30 minutes of the hospital.
The Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients, their families, and hospital personnel in cooperation with others, addressing spiritual needs which surface relative to accidents, illness, crisis, and death. Individuals will be trained to document within Epic. Duties would include weeknight, weekend and holiday call coverage.
Responsibilities- Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff during accidents, illness, crisis, and death.
- Document patient interactions and care in Epic.
- Perform weeknight, weekend, and holiday calls.
- Preferred experience:
active faith community or chaplaincy experience. - Required education:
Theological education from a CHEA Member organization, accredited college/university that fulfills education requirements for Board Certification in Chaplaincy (BCC) from the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or similar national certification. - Preferred: 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE, NACC or its equivalent;
Master's of Divinity preferred. - Training:
Must be informed of the Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives and work within the values and boundaries found therein (site specific). - Special skills:
Written ecclesiastical endorsement by a faith group preferred. - Licensure:
Certified in the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or similar national certification organization preferred;
Ordination or commissioning by an appropriate religious authority preferred.
