Automation Technician – 1st Shift at Pentair (Manitowoc, WI)
Job DescriptionAt Pentair, we work alongside passionate problem‑solvers to advance the future of our planet. As an Automation Technician, you will support manufacturing operations by performing proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. Your work will minimize downtime, support automation initiatives, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Automation & Robotics:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic systems (FANUC, ABB) and automated equipment.
- Support integration of automation technologies including sensors, actuators, and PLCs.
- Perform diagnostics and calibration of robotic arms and vision systems.
- Electrical Systems:
- Install and maintain electrical panels, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Perform electrical safety checks and ensure compliance with NEC and OSHA standards.
- Manufacturing & Equipment Support:
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Fabricate and install custom fixtures and tooling to support production.
- Facility & Office Maintenance:
- Maintain building systems including HVAC, lighting, and compressed air.
- Respond to maintenance requests from office and non‑manufacturing areas.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Experience with robotic systems and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic computer literacy.
- Welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus.
$35 – $40 per hour.
Physical Requirements- Perform physical labor for extended periods in warm, humid conditions.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and be able to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working at heights.
