JobOverview
The Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling Personnel is responsible for managing the flow of WIP parts and raw materials throughout the facility. This role requires collaboration, strong time management, and the support of a clean, organized work environment while consistently following all safety protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities- Receive, unpack, verify, record, label, and distribute incoming shipments of WIP, raw materials, and items tied directly to a job; inspect for accuracy and damage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by ensuring accurate counts, proper labeling, packaging, and documentation.
- Move raw materials, WIP, and any items tied directly to a job between work centers, staging areas, and vendor locations.
- Identify inventory items and allow inventory control specialist group to inventory and manage product.
- Adhere to safe manufacturing and material handling practices, including LEAN and 6S initiatives.
- Operate forklifts or other industrial equipment to move materials and ensure timely delivery to work centers.
- Maintain accurate records using computer systems and manage related clerical tasks.
- Coordinate material flow across departments and communicate discrepancies or needs effectively.
- Collaborate with team members, demonstrate strong time management, and support a clean, organized work environment.
- Perform duties indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Support additional production needs as assigned.
- Education:
high school diploma or equivalent (GED). - Experience:
one – three years of relevant experience, ideally in shipping/receiving and ERP systems such as Syteline/CSI. - Proficient with Windows‑based computer systems.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in compliance with safety regulations.
- Capable of reading and understanding sales orders, inventory records, and shipping/receiving documents.
- Strong attendance, work ethic, and communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and solving problems.
- Familiar with 6S, FIFO, and sound inventory/material flow practices.
- Solid math and analytical abilities.
