About The Position

Position requires repair and maintenance of electric, propane, CNG, diesel lift trucks and customer equipment. Qualified applicants should have a mechanical background and experience in forklift repair and maintenance. Recent graduates from technical schools with education in automotive and/or diesel repair are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accept repair orders as assigned by Service Manager, Service Dispatch or assigned person.
  • Service in the green Bay, Manitowoc, WI area.
  • Coordinate with Service office staff to communicate necessary repairs to customer and obtain approvals.
  • Read work orders, observe and listen to truck in operation to determine or diagnose malfunctions.
  • Offer solutions to meet customer specifications.
  • Provide estimates when appropriate.
  • Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the customer/Service Manager.
  • Obtain necessary parts working cooperatively with Parts department staff.
  • Make mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
  • Record complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and record hour meter reading.
  • Obtain signature from customer and communicate with them on repair needs or work that was completed.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, safety devices on truck and make adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain professional image of self and cleanliness of van (externally and internally) at all times.
  • Maintain and operate shop equipment and tools.
  • Notify Service Manager or Supervisor of safety issues and/or accidents immediately.
  • Perform quality work as quickly and professionally as possible.
  • Promote marketing efforts to drive parts, service, equipment and rental sales.
  • Complete service forms and submit directly to Service department daily via work tablet.
  • Be on‑call for emergency repairs and maintenance outside of regular business hours, ensuring timely response to service requests as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3+ years of mechanic experience and/or education related to the position.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and internet software.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manual, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of an organization.

  • Conditions include work inside and outside, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, hazards (moving mechanical parts, moving vehicle, electrical current, high heat, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, dusts, mists, gases), and narrow aisles or passageways.
