Child and Family Services Social Worker – Mankato
Location: Mankato, MN (with occasional work in Worthington and Rochester)
Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota is seeking a full-time Child and Family Services Social Worker to join our Mankato office. This program supports confident pregnancies and stable beginnings for all children.
Position OverviewThis role works with new and expectant parents to provide:
- Parenting education and planning
- Adoption planning and placement
- Pregnancy counseling
- Case management for young families
The social worker supports young families through assessment, case management, and access to needed resources.
Key Responsibilities- Complete assessments and case management
- Provide baby items and ongoing family support
- Conduct home study assessments and education for adoptive families
- Provide pregnancy and parenting counseling
- Support adoption planning and placement
- Build strong community partnerships and referral networks
- Work some flexible, on-call hours as needed
- Licensed Social Worker in the State of Minnesota
- Ability to earn Child Passenger Safety certification within 3 months of hire
- Knowledge of child welfare and child development
- Awareness of community resources and supports
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Strong relationship-building skills
- At least one year of experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of adoption and pregnancy & parenting counseling
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Based out of Mankato, MN
- Occasional work in Worthington and Rochester, MN
- Typical hours:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Starting salary: $48,000–$53,000 per year (full-time)
- Continuing education provided for:
- Social work licensure
- Child Passenger Safety Technician certification
