The Senior Project Superintendent ensures quality and cost controls on each project, and ensures customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs through direction of daily operations. This individual interacts with a variety of staff at all levels, remains flexible, resourceful, proactive, and professional.
Hours and ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, based on operational needs.
TravelAbility to travel within 120 miles radius; occasional travel beyond 120 miles from Mankato.
Reports ToVice President of Construction.
CompensationSalary $120,000–$150,000, exempt.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee all field operations on projects.
- Coordinate, direct, and supervise the quality of work and direct labor.
- Coordinate materials and equipment.
- Ensure safety, schedule, quality control and cost control requirements are met.
- Resolve site issues beyond the control of project managers.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Direct the work of foremen and crew according to owner, GC, and architect requirements.
- Mentor and manage project foremen through the life of a project.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with all team members.
- Control project field costs.
- Resolve issues professionally and notify appropriate parties.
- Act as point of contact between vendors, owners, and GC throughout scope.
- Minimize jobsite impact and achieve zero‑punch list through communication.
- Own the job by reviewing plans, drawings, specifications, and communicating with all team members.
Education / Experience
- 10+ years as a construction superintendent or similar in construction management.
- Experience supervising large or multiple projects.
- Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Read, understand, and implement project plans and documents.
- Multitask and exercise independent judgment in daily project administration.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude to anticipate problems and identify solutions.
- Ability to communicate highly detailed information among project managers, foremen, field crew, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
- Ability to work in a team and foster positive relationships.
- Highly organized and disciplined.
- Knowledge of construction equipment and proper use.
Must sit for long periods, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop.
EnvironmentWork performed indoors (job‑site trailer/office) and outdoors (construction site); travel required as needed.
