Board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist/Inpatient Pediatrician will work independently in a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate the health care needs of neonates, infants and children, with a focus on prematurity, respiratory distress, infectious diseases, congenital heart disease, and other anomalies. Clinical responsibilities include attendance at deliveries, resuscitation of newborns, care of healthy newborns, day‑to‑day management of babies in the Level II Nursery, and care of hospitalized children.
Procedures performed include circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, frenulectomies, intubations, and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax.
Board certified/board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed or eligible to be licensed in Minnesota. Must work independently/autonomously and interdependently with other health care professionals. Extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments. Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families and health care team.
CompensationThe minimum starting salary for hospital‑based specialties may range from $211,250 to $495,467. Pay will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
Site DescriptionMayo Clinic Health System-Mankato is the largest hub site in Minnesota with over 1,500 deliveries per year and a Level II Nursery that provides care to premature babies and other newborns requiring special care.
